Why switch
Why teams pick Engineer OS
The difference you feel first is how you buy. Commusoft doesn’t publish pricing — you book a demo, talk to sales, and sign a 12-month contract. Engineer OS puts its per-engineer pricing on the website, lets you sign up yourself, and bills monthly. If it stops earning its keep, you cancel. That confidence in the product is the point.
The second difference is speed to value. There is no implementation queue: sign up, add your engineers, import your customers, and run your first jobs the same day. During our founding period we migrate your data for you, free.
Day to day, engineers get a mobile-first app that installs from the browser on whatever phone they carry, digital forms with drawn signatures and branded PDFs, certificate expiry tracking with a daily digest, and AI that tidies dictated job notes into something customer-ready.
The other side
Where Commusoft is ahead today
Commusoft is the deeper product for planned-maintenance operations today. Its PPM scheduling and asset registers go further than what we ship right now, and its guided implementation suits firms that want a managed rollout. If deep contract-maintenance workflows are the core of your business, Commusoft has years of head start there. Where Engineer OS wins is speed to value, pricing transparency, and mobile UX.
FAQ
Common questions
Is there a minimum contract?
No. Engineer OS is billed monthly and you can cancel any time. There is no 12-month commitment and no onboarding fee.
Do I need a demo call before I can use it?
No. Signup is self-serve and you can be running jobs the same day. If you would like a walkthrough, you can book a 30-minute call with the founder — but it is optional, not a gate.
Can I import my data from Commusoft?
Yes. Customers, sites, and job history can be imported, and during our founding period we do the migration for you free of charge.
Do you do PPM and service contracts?
Planned preventative maintenance is on our roadmap but is not something we would sell you today. If deep PPM is the heart of your operation right now, we would honestly rather you knew that up front — and told us, so we can let you know when ours ships.
Try it on your own jobs this week.
Self-serve signup, no card required to start, and we’ll help migrate your data free while we’re in our founding period.
