See who owes you: the ageing report
The outstanding balances report groups unpaid invoices by customer and by how far past their due date they are.
Updated 10 October 2026
Opening the report
Invoices → Ageing report opens Outstanding balances: one row per customer, with the customers who owe the most at the top and a grand total at the bottom. Click a customer's name to open their record.
You'll also see an Outstanding summary on your dashboard and an Outstanding balance card on each customer's page.
What's included
Only invoices that have been sent or partially paid and still have money owing. Drafts, paid invoices and voided invoices aren't counted. For partially paid invoices, only the remaining balance is included.
The columns
Invoices are grouped by how far past their due date they are (not the date they were issued):
- Not yet due: due today or later, or no due date set
- 0–30 days: up to 30 days past the due date
- 31–60 days: 31 to 60 days past due
- 61–90 days: 61 to 90 days past due
- 90+ days: more than 90 days past due
- Total outstanding: everything the customer owes
Chasing payment
The report shows who to chase. It doesn't send reminders. To see the individual invoices behind a balance, go to Invoices and filter by the customer, or use the Overdue filter to list every overdue invoice.
When the money comes in, record the payment and the balance drops off the report straight away.
