What is Engineer OS?
A two-minute overview of Engineer OS for new customers: who it's for, what it replaces, and how the pieces fit together.
Updated 10 June 2026
Engineer OS is job management software for field service teams of roughly 5 to 100 engineers. It replaces the patchwork of WhatsApp groups, Word forms, spreadsheets and legacy job systems with one place where the office and the field see the same live information.
The two sides of the app
Engineers use it on their phone. Assigned jobs, customer details, directions, job chat, photo upload, digital forms with signatures, and their own certificates. It installs to the home screen like a native app and copes with patchy signal.
Admins use it at a desk. A calendar of every job, drag-and-drop scheduling, customer records, quoting, invoicing, form templates, certificate expiry tracking, reporting, and settings.
What's in the box
- Jobs: create, schedule, assign (one engineer or several), track status through to completion
- Forms: digital versions of your paperwork, completed and signed on site, exported as branded PDFs
- Photos and documents: attached to the job, not lost in someone's camera roll
- Quotes and invoices: raised against jobs, sent to customers, tracked through an ageing dashboard
- Customer portal: your customers see their own jobs, quotes and invoices via a secure link, no login to remember
- Assets and PPM: per-site equipment records and recurring planned maintenance that generates jobs automatically
- Time tracking, SLAs and reporting: clock in/out per job, response-time targets, profitability and utilisation reports
- Accounting: push invoices to Xero or QuickBooks, pull payment status back
